We are all sinners!
Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Some say, “I HAVE NOT SINNED! I HAVE NOT EVEN HURT A FLY!”
But Jesus says in 1 John 1:10, “If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.”
Romans 3:10 "There is no one righteous, not even one;”
SIN
1 John 2:16- For everything in the world
- The cravings of sinful man
- The lust of his eyes and
- The boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world.
1 John 2:17
“The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.”
1 John 3:8
He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.
IDOL WORSHIP
God hates Idol Worship
1 John 5:21 Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.
Psalms 115:4 But their idols are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.
Psalms 115:5 they have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see;
Psalms 115:6 they have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but they cannot smell;
Psalms 115:7 they have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but they cannot walk; nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
Psalms 115:8 those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.
Leviticus 26:1 "'Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God.
Exodus 20:4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
Exodus 20:5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
Exodus 20:6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Isaiah 40:18 To whom, then, will you compare God? What image will you compare him to?
Isaiah 40:19 As for an idol, a craftsman casts it, and a goldsmith overlays it with gold and fashions silver chains for it.
Isaiah 40:20 A man too poor to present such an offering selects wood that will not rot. He looks for a skilled craftsman to set up an idol that will not topple.
Isaiah 40:21 Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
Isaiah 40:22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
Isaiah 40:23 He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.
Isaiah 40:24 No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
Isaiah 40:25 "To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.
One MEDIATOR
Hebrews 9:15 For this reason, Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritanceActs 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
1 Timothy 2:5 for there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus
What do sinners have to do?
Jesus says sinners must repent. We call the guy who sells fish on the road, “hey fish come here.” He is not a fish. He sells fish and therefore people call him fish. All are sinners for they are born as sinners.Luke 13:3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
Luke 13:4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them--do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem?
Luke 13:5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."
REPENTANCE
1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Confessing our sins and accepting our Lord as our personal savior is what we mean by repentance.
Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
BORN AGAIN
Born again is being born of water and spirit.John 3:3 In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."
John 3:4 "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"
John 3:5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
John 3:6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
John 3:7 You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'
BAPTISM
Qualification of BaptismMark 16:16, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
Only those who believe can be baptized. When child baptism is given the principle of “believe and be baptized” is broken. The parent or grand parent believe for the child which is the lie of the devil.
Argument 1: Mark 16: 16 Whoever does not believe will be condemned. It does not say whoever does not believe and be baptized will be condemned.
Answer: it is equal to say those who eat ice cream and enjoy it are allowed into the ice cream factory and those who do not eat it are not allowed inside. It is understood that do not eat means do not enjoy. It does not need to be explicitly mentioned.
Argument 2 : Many instances it says, examples, the jailer and the household was baptized. It can also mean the children also were baptized.
Answer: If I say that I gave a party and cooked all the chicken in town, it does not mean that I even cooked just the hatched chickens! I cooked the chicken that was appropriate to be cooked.
Authority of Baptism
Mathew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.Mathew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mathew 28:20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Style of Baptism
Baptism root word from Greek is baptizo! Meaning immersion or immerse in water!
Acts 8:38, “And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.”
Mathew 3:16, “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.”
Argument: Sprinkling
Answer: not even once mentioned in the Bible
Observations: Baptism is full immersion in water.
Why Baptism?
Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for 1. the forgiveness of your sins. And you will 2. receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—“3. to join with Christ”
Mathew 3:14 But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?"
Mathew 3:15 Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this 4. to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented.
5. Galatians 3:27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
Spiritual Shadow of Baptism
Romans 6:3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Romans 6:5 If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.
Death to sin, burial of self with Lord Jesus Christ and life in resurrection power.
Dying then is similar to immersion into the water – a replica of burial
Coming ot of water signifies resurrection from death.
Rev 22:19 AND IF ANYONE TAKES WORDS AWAY FROM THIS BOOK OF PROPHECY, GOD WILL TAKE AWAY FROM HIM HIS SHARE IN THE TREE OF LIFE AND IN THE HOLY CITY, WHICH ARE DESCRIBED IN THIS BOOK.
These truths are plain, simple and clear. They should not be manipulated and must be followed as they are the words of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
WHY doesn’t everyone follow this? Why even though it is fully clear yet not followed? Why is idol worship in the church though it is so clear in the bible? Why is it so hard to be baptized though it is so clearly stated?
2 CORINTHIANS 4:4 THE GOD OF THIS AGE HAS BLINDED THE MINDS OF UNBELIEVERS, SO THAT THEY CANNOT SEE THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL OF THE GLORY OF CHRIST, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD.
Immediate Obedience
Acts 8:35 Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
Acts 8:36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?"
Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Acts 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
Acts 8:39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
Mat 3:16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.
Mat 3:17 And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."
